3 days in Paris Itinerary – What to See in Paris in 3 days?

Can you really explore Paris in three days? Well, it sounds great, but you really need to design your itinerary well to cover the best the city has to offer. After all, Paris is no ordinary European city and is packed with unbelievable sights and countless attractions. In this post you will find all the important info to make the most of your 3 days in Paris.

It is indeed a good idea to take advantage of the local Paris tours and explore Parisian neighborhoods and get the best experience ever. After all, with a local guide and expert, you would know where to go, what to do and where to eat. You get to see the best highlights of Paris, explore stunning neighborhoods and enjoy the most delicious French food ever without wasting your time or money.

Day 1 of three days in Paris itinerary

Morning

Start with one of the key attractions of Paris and which is the Eiffel Tower. It’s one of the top things to see in Paris in 3 days. The first thing you do is book your tickets online for Eiffel Tower. Going up the stairs is much shorter as the queues for the elevators are long. From the very top, you can enjoy some fantastic views of the city.

When you are done with the Eiffel Tower, take the Hop on Hop off Bus to tour the city and get an idea of the famous sights you would like to visit.

Afternoon

Explore the Louvre, one of the most famous museums that boast of an incredible collection of art such as Mona Lisa and Dying Slave. Before leaving Louvre, do not forget to enjoy some wine tasting at the Caves du Louvre that is located close to the museum. This is your chance to get introduced to different French wines.

Evening

In the evening, you can take a river cruise on the Seine, which is one of the best things to do in Paris in 3 days. Pick from the different types of cruises available with multiple operators. The price is ranging between 20 to 200 euro for a tour.

Day 2 of Paris 3 day itinerary

You can take a walking tour of the city on the second day. Paris is indeed a perfect city to explore on foot. It would be a great idea to take a guided Paris tour, as you will have a chance to get to know the history of a city from a local guide.

Morning

You can visit some of the iconic sites of Paris’s and its famous museums and churches.  Start with Notre Dame which is centrally located and one of the most famous landmarks. It is incredibly beautiful, and from the top, one can enjoy some great views of Paris. Next, you can head for Saint Chapelle which is not too far from Notre Dame. The interiors of this chapel are absolutely outstanding, and those stained glass works are sure to take your breath away.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, you can check out Shakespeare & Company, a famous bookstore. It is indeed a delight to explore the bookstore and buy a couple of books. You can stroll along the Seine to reach Musee d’Orsay, which is a fabulous art museum. It showcases the most extensive collection of Impressionist art from famous artists like Van Gogh, Manet, Degas, and Monet.

Evening

Spend the evening strolling in the Luxembourg Gardens. With Luxembourg Palace on one side, it will the perfect ending of your second day in Paris.

Day 3 of three days in Paris itinerary

Morning

In the morning, head to the Champs-Elysees and take some Instagram worthy pictures of the famous monument. Later you can explore the well-known shopping areas of the place. Champs-Elysses is one of the most well-known streets in the world, and you will come across an endless number of shops, theaters, and restaurants that line the street.

Afternoon

Spend the afternoon at Versailles, and it is sure going to take the whole of your afternoon time. You can explore the palace and the gardens on your own or take a guide. As the property is enormous, it is impossible to cover everything in there.

Evening

In the evening you can head to the Montmartre that boasts of another iconic building of the city, Sacre Coeur de Montmartre. This area of Paris was particularly popular with artists and is famous as being home to writers and artists like Picasso and Hemingway.

Enjoy a full Parisian meal during lunch with appetizers, a main course, a cheese course, and a dessert. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a nice picnic along the Parisian canal banks. As for dinner, you can end each day with a round of drinks and a nice dinner at some fancy spots like Buddha Bar, Le Relais Gascon, L’As du Falafel and many popular restaurants along Rue de Rosiers.

It is time to say goodbye, as your 3 days in Paris are over. Take a look at the Eiffel Tower one more time with a warm street crepe and promise yourself to come back one more time!
