Private Taxi

The best way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya is by taking the Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya taxi or a Bangkok to Pattaya taxi from your hotel.

How much is a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya? The official cost of taxis from Bangkok airport to Pattaya is THB 1050 plus THB 60 for expressway tolls. That’s a total of THB 1110 or USD 37. The fare is quite reasonable for a peaceful and quick 1.5-hour taxi from Bangkok airport to Pattaya.

You can also book a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya by bargaining with the cabbies outside the airport. But their Bangkok to Pattaya taxi fare can range anywhere from THB 800 to THB 1500 (USD 26 to USD 50) and depends on your bargaining skills. The official Bangkok airport to Pattaya taxi is a better option. There are also a number of sites where you can book transfers from Bangkok airport to Pattaya online in advance. For example here.

Flight

If you prefer to travel in style, there would have the option of flights from Bangkok to Pattaya. Pattaya is served by the U-Tapao International Airport that’s about 30 km South of Pattaya City. A Suvarnabhumi Bangkok to Pattaya flight would get you here, post which you need to take a taxi or bus to the city.

However, I do not recommend flights from Bangkok airport to Pattaya as they all go via other cities, for example, Bangkok – Chiang Mai – Pattaya or Bangkok – Koh Samui – Pattaya. The minimum flight duration is 4 hours including layovers and the costs vary from USD 100 to USD 300. On the other hand, if you’re trying to get to Pattaya from other places, say for example Koh Samui, Phuket or Chiang Mai, the flight into U-Tapao Airport will be a good choice!

So if you ask me how to go to Pattaya from Bangkok? Or how to get from Bangkok to Pattaya? My answer is: taxi, train or bus are the best options.
