Our interview with James from thesavvybackpacker.com travel Blog:

Why did you start traveling?

I started traveling when I studied abroad. My course had a month long Easter break so I traveled around Europe the entire time. Once my program ended I traveled another few weeks. After that I was hooked!

What is the most important during your travels?

The most important thing is to mix a bit of the touristy stuff with experiencing the local culture.

What is the most important experience that you had during your travels?

The most important experience that I’ve had while traveling is learning how to roll with the punches. Things are going to go wrong. I’m a fairly experienced traveler but I still screw up. You can’t let it get you down. Just use it as a learning experience.

What is the most beautiful place that you have ever been to?

Paris. It is my favorite city. It’s like a second home.

What do you avoid when you travel?

I try to avoid rushing. On my first trip around Europe I wanted to see everything but I got burnt out. Now I do my best to take it a little more easy so I can soak it all in.

What is your biggest travel dream?

I’d like to some longterm travel and spend a few weeks or a month in each locations so I could get a better feel for each place. That would be amazing.
