Our interview with Marysia Maciocha from

Why did you start travelling?

I must admit it is a difficult question. For sure out of natural curiosity I always had for a surrounding world. To understand, to see other cultures, religions and countries with my own eyes and to make my own opinions.

What is the most important during your travels?

Observing real life and interacting with locals as much as possible. I think this is what always makes most memorable memories on my travels.

When it comes to more trivial things it would be trying local food and public transport!

What is the most important experience that you had during your travels?

Do I really have to pin it down to one experience? I think that I evolve as a traveller every journey I take.

In 2005 it would be going for summer holidays and not making it back home for another 6 months totally unplanned.

In 2008 it could be going on my first proper solo trip to Brazil.

But to be frank I think that most important experiences are those who teach you something new about the world or yourself so from simple conversation with a great Girl I have met in Rasht, Iran to minor scuba diving accident I had in Egypt.

What is the most beautiful place that you have been to?

I loved little village I have visited in Azerbaijan, called Laza. Wadi Rum was a truly beautiful place. Sardinia never disappoints me when it comes to beauty either. So I have listed: mountains, desert and the sea, as you can see nature always impress the most!

What do you avoid when you travel?

I always try to avoid troubles but it is not very difficult as I’m really the Luckiest Girl in the World when it comes to travel.

What is your biggest travel dream?

Some of my big dreams have been already reached, like Iran. Now my top two destinations are Pakistan and Madagascar.

But as well I have more cliché travel dreams like to visit every single country of the world.

What are you favourites travelers?  Which blogs do you read?

I really like Goats on the Road, Young Adventuress and there is this crazy Girl called Aussa Lorens, she is not strictly a travel blogger but she always makes me laugh!
