Zermatt

Hands down, Zermatt is one of the most romantic places in Switzerland. This small village located high in the Swiss Alps was once completely unknown to the world. It became famous in the 20th century. Right now, it’s a vibrant resort town, where you can take some of the best hikes in Switzerland.

Can you imagine anything more romantic than spending a holiday with someone you love in the heart of beautiful mountains? Just take a look at the photo above – it says more about Zermatt than a thousand words ever could. No matter if you are spending the honeymoon in Switzerland, or you are just visiting the country with your partner to relax, be sure to go there!

Romantic Things To Do In Zermatt

If you like winter sports, this is one of the best places to stay in Switzerland in summer for you. Why? Because Zermatt is the highest year-round ski area in Europe! When your friends will be sunbathing on the beach, you can go skiing high in the mountains. How awesome is that?

Zermatt is also a home of one of the best summer festivals in Switzerland – Swiss Folklore Festival.

The landmark of Zermatt is Matterhorn. This well-known pyramid-shape mountain became popular because of of…the Toblerone! The chocolate brand that is one of the most famous Swiss things, made Matterhorn part of its logo.

Switzerland is known for its chocolate - how romantic!

You can climb up to the top of this mountain, but it’s very challenging. If you want to see the best views of Matterhorn, take a ride to the top of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise by cable car.

Even in the middle of the summer, you will see snow there. All the photos that you can see in this post were taken in July. As you can see, it’s hard to choose the best time to go to Switzerland. The country is awesome all year round. It’s not that easy to find a winter place in the middle of the European summer!

The cable cars in Zermatt are super romantic!
